Baltic Challenges and Chances for local and regional development generated by Climate Change (In Short: BalticClimate) was an Interreg IV B Project. Leadpartner of the project was the Academy of Spatial Research and State Planning (Akademie für Raumforschung und Landesplanung, Short: ARL). Climate Change changes the environmental conditions under which institutions and enterprises operate. The project therefor aimed at supporting decision makers, spatial planners and enterprises with coping with and adapting to the changes introduced by climate change. Climate change was seen not only as a threat but also as a chance and possibility. In the areas of transportation and energy the project conducted adaptation and coping measures. The collection of the experiences made up the basis on which they developed the BalticClimate Toolkit, open for use under the following link: https://toolkit.balticclimate.org/index.php. As further results there was a SWOT-Analysis undertaken and a guideline and list of criteria for sustainable planning and development established.
