Tourism is a strong growth world-wide business, where there is still a huge untapped potential in Denmark and Germany. Tourism is often regarded as one of the major business potentials for rural areas and outlying areas that have been challenged by relocation, job losses and fewer activities locally over several years.
The overall goal of Case Study tourism is to establish knowledge and methods for strengthening micro-tourism in rural areas as well as the exchange of experience about experience across the border. The various Case Study partners cover areas from strategic development to the more operational level. The current Case Study partners benefit from the different structures and working methods of the individual Case Study partners, which brings a great deal of benefit to the collaboration.
Expectations for the mutual benefit of the Danish-German cooperation in this CS concern:
• Exchange of knowledge about rural tourism - differences and similarities between countries
• Exchange of methods for involvement of communities and businesses
• Developing strategies for how local communities and small businesses can think of tourism in the development of their area / business
• Exchange of experience across the Danish / German border.
